Below are some resources that you may find helpful as an international student or graduate, looking to work in the UK or overseas (including your home country) Below you can find several general websites, or you can scroll to the bottom for country/region-specific information. 

Working and Studying in the UK

UKCISA (UK Council for International Student Affairs)  

UKCISA offers a range of advice and guidance direct to international students, this includes helpful visa information for during and after your studies and general advice on what to expect when living, studying and working in the UK. 

They also offer a student advice line which you can call if you do not find the information you need on their website.

Target Jobs

Target Jobs is a website you can use to search for jobs but it also has a lot of helpful career advice including guidance on the UK application process, internships, working life, university life and career ideas

Student Circus

Student Circus is a job-readiness platform for international students where you can search pre-filtered job opportunities that meet your needs e.g. searching for visa sponsored jobs. Your university may have a subscription to Student Circus so check with your Careers Service, or go directly to the website, to see if you can access their opportunities and resources.

FutureLearn

FutureLearn is an online platform which you can use to take online courses to build skills and knowledge in particular areas.

Some of the courses are free to access, including this module on ‘Preparing for Work’ which is for international students studying in the UK.

Passport Career

Passport Career is a website for those looking to develop a global career and wanting to search for jobs across the world. 

If your university subscribes to the platform, you will find advice and guidance on over 80 countries, have access to monthly webinars and be able to get career, CV, application and cultural advice. Check with your Careers Service to find out if you have access and can create an account. 

Their global careers blog is publicly available and contains posts on topics like international internships and cultural considerations.

GradLink

GradLink helps international students and graduates to learn about work opportunities, and connect with employers across the world. You can use the website to find out about careers and jobs in your home country and beyond. They have a jobs board, CV advice, country guides and case studies to help you learn about the experience of other international graduates.
